Minority Caucus will uphold County Executive’s veto  of Democrat’s proposed map

Written by Glenn Gramigna, Editor

(Erie County, NY) – The Erie County Legislature’s Minority Caucus, led by Minority Leader John J. Mills, will join together to uphold County Executive Chris Collins’s veto of local law 5-1. The six-member caucus has the necessary votes to uphold the veto and stop the Majority Caucus’s redistricting map from becoming law.

“The Minority Caucus stands together against the proposed map, which is an injustice to the people of Erie County. Among its many flaws, the map is disrespectful to the rural communities and doesn’t support ‘one man, one vote.’ This is one of the worst examples of a gerrymandered map I have seen and I will, without doubt, uphold the County Executive’s veto,” Minority Leaders Mills stated.

He is joined by his colleagues in Caucus in adamantly opposing the Majority Caucus’s map.
